What a name tool does here

Every tool in this directory starts from names you type and returns something you can actually use: a blended name with a stated reason, or a set of real names that match what you gave it. None of them guess at your intent in the background, and none of them send your input anywhere to work out an answer. You supply the names, the tool works on them in the page you are already looking at, and you can copy a result straight out.

How the live tools differ

Each tool earns its place by answering a different question. The Name Combiner invents: give it two to twelve names and it stitches them at every plausible seam, scores each blend out of twelve, and shows the technique behind it. The Baby Name Generator looks things up: give it two parent names and it searches a bundled library of 3,000 real names for the ones that share their letters, alongside the gender, origin, and meaning recorded for each where the source has it. One creates a name that did not exist; the other finds names that already do. Keeping them separate is deliberate, so the two never return the same list under two different headings.

What every tool shares

Three things hold across the whole directory. First, everything runs in your browser: the tools compute on this page, and nothing you type is uploaded, logged, or used to build a profile. Second, there is no account, no sign-up wall, and no email required at any point. Third, the results are deterministic: the same names and the same settings return the same output every time, so what you see is what the algorithm actually produced rather than a fresh shuffle on each visit.

Why the directory is short

The directory is short on purpose. A tool only appears once it produces a genuinely different result from the ones already here, because two pages that return the same list compete with each other and help neither. That rule means you will find a small number of tools that each do one job well, rather than a long menu of near-identical generators. New tools are added when they clear that bar, not to pad the count.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need an account to use the name tools?

No. There is no account, no sign-up, and no login anywhere on the site. Open a tool, type your names, and use the results. When you leave, there is nothing to sign out of, because nothing was ever tied to you.

Are the name tools free?

Yes. Every tool in the directory is free to use, with no trial, no credit limit, and no paid tier. The site is funded by advertising rather than subscriptions, and the tools behave the same whether ads load or not.

Do you store or upload the names I type?

Nothing you type is uploaded or stored. The tools run entirely in your browser, so your names never form part of a network request. If you use a save or a share feature, that data stays on your own device, or is encoded into a link you choose to send - never sent to a server of ours.

Why are there only a few tools in the directory?

Because a tool has to produce a meaningfully different result to earn a place here, which is a higher bar than a new label on an existing one. The live tools cover the most common jobs - inventing a blend, and finding real names that match your inputs - and more will be listed as they meet the same standard.

Still unsure which tool fits the task? Start from the task guide, or go straight to the name combiner or the baby name generator. Everything runs in your browser, and the about page explains how the site is put together.
