What to send
- Corrections. A meaning, origin, or popularity claim that looks wrong is the most useful mail you can send. Include the tool, the exact name, and what the page says versus what you believe is correct. Source links speed this up enormously.Email a correction.
- Bugs. Something broken, a result that will not generate, a layout problem on your phone. Include the page URL, your browser and device, and what you did right before it broke.Report a bug.
- Data questions. How a match was scored, why a name is or is not in the library, where a field comes from. These get answered with specifics or with an honest “we don't know yet”.Ask a data question.
- Partnerships and advertising inquiries: say who you are and what you have in mind, in the first line.Start a partnership email.
What not to expect
We can't do personal naming consultations — there is no team behind this site to shortlist names for individual families, and a form reply would be worse than none. We also can't promise a response time; mail is answered when it is answered, though corrections are usually the fastest.
Please don't send anything sensitive — names of children, documents, or personal records. Email is not a private channel, and this site doesn't need your data to function anyway.
One practical note: because the tools run in your browser, most problems cannot be reproduced from our side even if we wanted to try. If you report a bug, the details in the template — browser, device, and the exact steps you took — are what make it fixable. Without them, a report is usually a description we cannot act on.
How your mail is handled
The address above is a forwarding address. Mail is delivered to a routing service and passed straight to a personal inbox, where a person reads it. The site itself keeps nothing, because it has no database, no server, and nowhere to file a message even if it wanted to.
What we do with a message is narrow on purpose: we use it to make the correction, fix the bug, or answer the question, and nothing else. There is no newsletter and no mailing list, your address is not added to any roll and not shared with anyone, and we will never ask you for a password or account details, because there are no accounts here to protect.
Before you write
Two pages answer most questions first: the privacy policy covers exactly what is stored and where, and the about page covers how the tools work, where the data comes from, and which tools are available.
If you are reporting a wrong meaning or origin, the baby name generator shows which fields come from which source, and the tools directory describes what each tool returns. Checking those first often answers a data question before you send it.
